Thank you for visiting our Ambassador's Challenge donation page!
We're proud Ambassador's of Alcohol Change UK and we wanted to take on a challenge (or two) to raise much needed awareness and some money along the way. So what are the challenges we hear you ask, well Fraser will be taking on the VIRTUAL LONDON MARATHON Sunday 2 October and will be joined by many faces as he Liveathons (just like Sober Dave) every other mile. Fraser and Sober Dave will then team up to support each other through the tough MANDOWN 3 on Saturday 26th of November! Here is more about each event.
Virtual London Marathon
The virtual event runs alongside the physical London Marathon in that it takes place on the same day (2 October), but unlike the physical event the virtual version gives you a full 24hrs to complete 26.2 miles. The plan is to alternate between jogging a mile with company and walking a mile while live streaming chats/interviews.
Mandown
"Mandown (an 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' style challenge) looks like pure hell but the whole point of it for me is I need to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone. This isn’t just on the night, it’s getting up now at 5.00am when it’s dark to go and do a run where previously I haven’t even ran for a bus in over 30 years.
It’s about reaching inside myself, believing in my capabilities to achieve more, to fully stretch myself by saying yes rather than sod that for a game of soldiers. Giving up alcohol opens a million doorways in life, and this is one of them.
I think this will be a life changing experience for me and although I feel nervous I equally feel excited too. If you feel like pushing yourself outside your comfort zone you can always join me?" Sober Dave
As ever we'll be supporting Alcohol Change UK. Your support is desperately needed - alcohol deaths in the UK are increasing at their fastest ever rate.
- A donation of £2.50 today could support one person who is trying to cut down on their drinking with our Try Dry app for 6 months - so £50 could help support 20 people!
- £5 could help fund our information and advice hub to support those seeking help with their drinking;
- £10 could help us train more frontline staff to support some of the most vulnerable drinkers;
- £20 could help support our campaigning work to ensure that the government makes the changes needed to support those affected by alcohol harm.
Any donation you can give will help change and save people's lives. People who were just like us, who struggled with their drinking. But Alcohol Change UK can reach out and help them, so please donate whatever you can now.
Thank you.
